Whole Momma Mantras

SMILE Your Way Through It! When your kids make you want to drop everything and join the circus, at least you'll be paid to be apart of one, stop, breath, and smile. Kids respond so much better to a happy, smiling face and it really helps you regain some sense of sanity. Try it, it works!!

Date Nights are Crucial ... not only for your sanity but also for your success! You need space to refocus and refresh so plan some dates with yourself and get dressed up for them. You need time remembering you are a smart, funny, and awesome person still worth while, so plan some dates with girlfriends, somewhere trendy. You need to remind yourself how you ended up with these adorable kids who drive you crazy, so plan a fun date with your husband where kid talk isn't allowed and definitely dress down for it!!! After a few dates, I guarantee you'll be feeling like a whole momma again!

Put Your Best Face Forward... while working to get back that pre-baby body! Spruce up your hair, groom those brows, sass up your makeup, and try out some flair. A good scarf can do wonders! Not only will everyone else notice this extra glow, but hopefully you'll feel better as your body morphs into a new you!

Always put on at least one piece of jewelry... (outside of your watch) no matter your plans, energy level, or ability to truly get ready! It is an instant reminder and rekindling of the woman inside. Try a bangle for a fuss free feminine touch!

Gotta Have It!

Child's Play

Cutting Train Tracks: Help your child learn to cut with scissors. Take a piece of construction paper and draw three cute items like cars, smiley faces, shapes in a column taking up the whole length of the paper. Then draw large dash lines, some straight, some curvy towards the other side of the paper. Finish with a matching picture at the end of the paper in another column. It should look like they are cutting from one shape to the matching shape. This is great for dexterity, following a line, and matching. Then put them to work cutting out coupons, pictures for their letter to Santa, and letters of their name to glue to paper.
Box of ABC's: Help your child write letters. Take a shoe box, fill the bottom with uncooked rice. Guide your child's hand to write letters. Then shake the box and start over. For fun paint the bottom of the box and the rice. Practice shapes and numbers too!
Find Your Letters: To help your child learn the letters of her name, play a find it game in the car. Earn points for every letter of her name that she can find on billboards, street signs, etc.. Prompting may be required at first, but after awhile, she will be doing it on her own, killing time and learning letters!
